19 Borutski Street, Upstairs
In the heart of Wilno
Just 100 metres up the hill
from the Wilno Tavern

Annie learned to knit and sew from her maternal grandmother, a tailoress in south Wales. When this was not enough to keep her interest after immigrating to Canada, she enrolled in the Weaving Program at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology (SIAST) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – a drive of over 1.5 hrs each way.

At SIAST she learned to spin and dye her own yarns, creating vibrant colours and finally to weave them into cloth. Annie has received scholarships from SIAST, the Saskatchewan Weavers and Spinners Guild (2) and the Saskatoon Spinners & Weavers Guild. These allowed her to attend workshops with Master Weavers from Canada, the United States, England and Holland.

She is the past editor of “The Bulletin”, (Canadian Guild of Weavers), “Scattered Threads”, (Saskatchewan Weavers & Spinners Guild), and Saskatoon Spinners & Weavers Guild newsletters. She is a founding member of the Textile Arts Group of Saskatoon and is presently the Chair of the Madawaska Valley Arts Council.

Annie has chosen to weave only one-of-a-kind pieces that have made their way across Canada, into the United States and across to the United Kingdom. In her Wilno studio Annie weaves strong rugs from re-cycled denim, wool and cotton, beautiful wool blankets, and shawls and scarves from exotic fibres.
