JANET MOORE

Janet Moore has worked as a professional visual artist for the past 25 years and is the recipient of a number of awards from Canada Council and the Yukon Territorial Government.  Her work is included in the Canada Council Art Bank, the Yukon Government Permanent Art Collection, the Yukon Arts Centre Collection, and the City of Whitehorse Collection.  Moore’s work has been exhibited across Canada in numerous galleries including:  The McMichael Museum in Kleinburg, ON, The Yukon Arts Centre Gallery in YT, The Prince George Public Gallery in BC, CUBE Gallery in Ottawa, ON, SAW Gallery in Ottawa, ON and the Odd Gallery in Dawson City, YT.
 

Last fall Janet spent a month at the Banff Centre for the Arts as an artist in residence in the Leighton Colony.  While there, she began a new series of mixed media larger scale paintings by combining her own hand made paper, various mediums, acrylic paint and charcoal. These new paintings will be on display at her studio this year. Janet will be on hand demonstrating the papermaking and collage techniques used in making these larger scale paintings.
