Janet Moore studied at the University of Waterloo in ON, the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in BC and the Simon Fraser University Summer Institute Intensive Program in BC. She has worked as a professional visual artist for the past 25 years. Over this time Moore has explored many forms of expression including sculptural installation, painting in oil and acrylic and more recently combining various techniques in mixed media/collaged paintings. The recipient of a number of awards from Canada Council and the Yukon Government, her work is included in the Canada Council Art Bank, the Yukon Government Permanent Art Collection, the Yukon Arts Centre Collection, and the City of Whitehorse Collection . Solo Exhibits include: Above Ground, held concurrently at The Yukon Arts Centre Gallery, Whitehorse , Yukon and The Prince George Art Gallery, BC; Ten Weeks, Odd Gallery, Dawson City , Yukon and Janet Moore- Current Work at Gallery One, Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre, Winnipeg , Manitoba . Past Group exhibitions include: The Kluane Expedition, held concurrently at the McMichael Museum in Kleinberg , ON , Bulldozer, at SAW Gallery, Ottawa , ON , and North of Sixty, at The Works Festival, Edmonton , AB.
