Polish born artist and architect, Janusz Charczuk, received a Master’s Degree of Architecture at the Technical University of Gdansk in Poland. Working as an architect for many years in Poland, the US and Canada, Janusz never lost his love and appreciation for art. He studied and mastered many art techniques ranging from watercolor to free-hand drawing to sculpture.

His fascination with iconography materialized when he began to study tempera icon painting. Janusz has discovered a way of connecting his spiritual journey with the art of icon painting. Janusz and his wife have fallen in love with Combermere, Barry’s Bay and Wilno where they enjoy spending time at their cottage. Recently Janusz built an art studio there where he could immerse himself in the serenity of nature as he works on his art.

His icons are featured in collections in Canada, the United States and Europe.
